Job Description: Job Title Senior Network Engineer
Location: Rosslyn, VA – Remote possibility
Citizenship Requirement: US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
Position Description
Responsibilities include documenting, installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining infrastructure communications hardware and software for client network.
Configuring router and switches for client internal data center and satellite sites.
Monitor, report, troubleshoot and remediate network performance issues.
Identify diagnoses and resolve network problems.
Take technical lead of projects for existing client network, as well as redesigning network architecture in order to facilitate new business requirements and/or to take advantage of system enhancements.
Ensure LAN/WAN environment is secure and appropriate resolution to recovery and redundancy issues.
Planning and ensuring of a reliable high performance environment across all components in the client network.
Leading, designing and implementing strategic and technical approach of projects.
Work closely with field operation group and other IT staff.
Lead evaluation, testing, reporting and implementation of current and immerging technologies as appropriate to the mission and priorities of the client organization. These may include:
Integration with Cloud Service Providers (e.g., Azure, AWS, vCloud, etc.)
Integration with remote data centers
Primary Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 8 or more years of specialized experience in routing and switching.
Must have a minimum of 6 or more years’ experience serving in the role of senior network administration, dealing with all aspects of installing, configuring and maintaining of enterprise network.
Ability to lead, plan, organize, implement and direct activities and resources associated with the design, development, installation, and maintenance of enterprise network.
Demonstrated experience leading a team and being responsible for the success of complex projects with significant IT components
Demonstrated ability to determine requirements for, and ensure design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network.
Ability to work independently, manages small project implementation across the client agency or organization, and coordinates project activities with IT staff.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with other IT staff and managers
Ability to perform duties as assigned and help client in obtaining and maintaining its mission.
Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years.
Desired Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields
Advanced degree or advanced studies in converged telecommunications.
CCNP or CCNA Certification
Strong “can-do” attitude, willing to do whatever it takes to successfully accomplish projects
Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting complex network
Prior experience contracting with a government agency
Excellent Time Management skills
Proven ability to document network topology, and reflect on changes.
