We are looking for a SPLUNK Subject Matter Expert to join the team and build SPLUNK dashboards to support analytics and visibility. The qualified application will work in coordination with teams for the development of SPLUNK dashboards in accordance with the procedures in place for our customer. 

NOTE: This is a Monday – Friday 2nd shift position - 3pm – 11:30pm ET
NOTE: This position does allow for flexible remote work, but candidates MUST be willing to report in person to Raleigh, NC for the first 2-3 (estimated) days to pick up equipment and ensure that all access is available.  We do not pay for any expenses.  After these initial days they would be able to work remote

  • Skills include to develop/implement alerts and workflows for Splunk, develop apps and knowledge objects such as Dashboards, reports, data models. 
  • Ability to work with the Splunk Architect and Administrators to promote knowledge objects. 
  • Assist and/or train Telecom team and analysts on Content Development. 
  • Develop and implement automation and efficiencies with Splunk and Telecom workflow. 
  • Provide Analyst training and workshops on using Splunk
  • Review new content, alerts and data sources with Telecom Analysts. 
  • The successful job candidate must have excellent communication skills and be a detail-oriented self-starter. 
  • Will be required to coordinate with internal and external support teams to implement dashboard and resolve any issues related to event, incident, and problem management. 
  • This person will be an individual contributor but will work well within and across teams to accomplish his/her tasks. 

   Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or associated discipline preferred. 
  • Minimum 5 years of system administration in IT systems management and/or data center environments 
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience with Splunk administration, architecture and operation, including the following 

    Skillsets: 

  • Experience with Unix and Windows; comfortable with command line interface 
  • Strong knowledge or recent experience with scripting languages (bash), application development (java, python, .NET), databases and analytical tools 
  • Strong experience with log management/data consumption/data management 
  • Ability to prepare Splunk reports and generate dashboards for customer
  • Develop and Implement Actionable Alerts and Workflow for Splunk as a Network Services Monitoring tool 
  • Develop and Implement Apps & Knowledge Objects (KO) like Dashboard, Reports, Data Models 
  • Work with the Splunk Architect/Admin to promote private KO to Global KO 
  • Statistical and analytical modeling a plus 
  • Splunk certifications a plus 
  • Assist and/or train team members on Content Development 
  • Knowledge of system life cycle and system engineering (SELC) best practices 
  • Strong Oracle DB knowledge and experience
  • Strong Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals 
  • Strong communication, written and verbal skills 
  • Must be able to obtain client Sensitive clearance. US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder), must not have traveled for a combined total of 6 months or more outside the US in the last 5 years. Must have lived in the US for the last 5 years.
