Job Title: Information Security Data Scientist (Remote)

Location: Remote (Possible occasional Travel).

Prefer Dallas or Austin Texas (note this is preferred not a requirement).

Description:

This position will be working with Network Security and Vulnerability Management themed data and requires a strong background in Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics. Participate as a key member of the analytics and business intelligence team responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the Information Security data analytics infrastructure. This position will work with the Information Security Team to identify opportunities to improve their operational effectiveness and efficiency by employing statistical methods and techniques across various disparate data sources.  The role will have access to our full BI stack to utilize as needed.  The stack includes an Enterprise BI system, Data Visualization tools, R, Python and a RDBMS.  Communicate analytical achievements periodically with senior executive leadership in formal business review sessions.  Participate in planning sessions with senior leadership. 

Quals/Responsibilities:

Familiar with operational concepts tied to Information Security and vulnerability remediation strongly preferred and knowledge of Universal Discovery and CMDB a plus.

Experience with scripting languages such as Python, R and SQL.

Ability to use statistical methods and techniques such as categorization models.

Experienced with data visualization tools like Tableau and Enterprise BI tools such as WebFOCUS or Business Objects.

Fluency with relational modeling concepts.

Strong English written and communication skills.

Sound understanding of business intelligence best practices, relational data structures, data modeling, data mart and reporting techniques.
