Job Title: IT - Software Engineer V
COBOL Developer - Level III (Remote):
Description:
Researches, designs, implements and manage software programs as well as testing and evaluating new programs. Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Writing and implementing efficient code. Develop quality assurance procedures and deploy software tools, processes and metrics. Works closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts. Acts as team leader on projects. Participates in development of software user manuals. Instructs, assigns, directs, and checks the work of other software developers on development team. Consults with engineering staff to evaluate software-hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performance requirements.
List of tasks to be performed:
Understand and analyse complex business systems code using COBOL, VSAM, JCL, TSO/ISPF, XPEDITER, FileAid, Changeman, CICS skills
Utilize Agile/Scrum processes and management tools such as VersionOne.
Use IT Service management system (preferably ServiceNow)
Writing and tuning complex SQL Queries in DB2 environment.
Writing and tuning PL/SQL in DB2 environment.
Understand and analyse network firewalls and how they are implemented to provide secure enclaves to protect server and database resources.
Understand security certificates and how they are used to protect transmission of data between various computer devices.
Ability to perform analysis of customer requirements and to design related technical solutions
Ability to perform project management functions.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and management tools such as VersionOne.
Lead / mentor developers on development projects
Additional Required Skills/Experience:
A minimum of eight (8) to twelve (12) years’ relevant experience.
A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field, then four additional years of related experience is required.
Typically performs all functional duties independently.
Note: Special credentials (licenses and/or certifications) may be required at the Task Order level on a case-specific basis."
Additional Provisions:
Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
Once candidate’s resume is approved and interview passed, the agency is responsible for providing drug screening. Failure to submit the drug screening results will delay the security clearance process.
If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance.
All candidates must be a US Citizen, or have permanent residence status (Green Card).
Candidate must have lived in the US for the past 5 years.
Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
All overtime must be pre-approved in writing by the client manager or his/her designated representative.
Agency will not be reimbursed for overtime charges without previous written authorization. Authorized overtime will be reimbursed at straight time.
The enforced dress code is business casual, i.e. collared shirt with slacks for men, no skirts above the knee for women. Place and Period of Performance
Hours of support: the standard work week for contract staff will be 5 days a week and 8 hours per day preferable Monday through Friday.
