Responsible for the development, design and implementation of infrastructure (CAT6, Fiber), in order to support various network devices. This includes developing cost estimates\quotes, floor plans\as builds, and IT closet\rack\cabinet design.

Works with multiple structured cabling providers contracted with the State.  The main focus of the position is the design and oversite of the cabling infrastructure installation, which includes the oversite/management of contracted vendors. 

Each project will require the development of a statement of work for each vendor contracted to perform work. Upon completion of each infrastructure design, inspection for quality control and audited for accurate invoicing, all documentation must be electronically stored on IOT servers according to team standards.  The position requires the person to perform extensive data gathering that will assist the individual in determining the scope of work.  The data gathering consists of marking up floor plans, getting station counts/locations/pathways to determine each data run and the proper infrastructure is used based on the environment, which then is used to create a scope of work that includes the bill of materials.

Work requires extensive knowledge in cabling infrastructure for an enterprise business environment.  Ability to work and cooperate with customers, as well and contracted vendors and co-workers is mandatory.  Some travel after hours work and on call duties are required.  

Design, develop cost analysis/statement of work and implementation of cable infrastructure.  Maintaining relevant SLAs and staying within budget.

Must work with various levels of management as well as other IOT teams. In addition, be a single point of contact for assigned agencies regarding project requirements and implementation.

Experience with developing cost analysis/SOW and implementation of cable infrastructure Required 5 Years

Experience developing floor plans/as builds, and IT closet/rack/cabinet design. Required 5 Years

BICSI Technician certification or at minimum 5 years experience with complete knowledge and application of BICSI principles. Required 5 Years

Experience with designing and implementing infrastructure engineering Required 5 Years

Experience with the application of NEC/OSHA codes/standards Required 5 Years

Experience in project management, Visio, Adobe Pro and CAD Required 5 Years

Excellent oral and written communication skills Required 

Associate Degree in Electronics or Computer Sciences or EET Required  

RCDD certification Highly desired
