Description:
Researches, designs, implements and manage software programs as well as testing and evaluating new programs. Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Writing and implementing efficient code. Works closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts.
Required:
Minimum of 10 years in mainframe development, including IBM z/OS, JCL, COBOL, VSAM, and MQ.
Experience with REXX and SAS scripting for automation and data manipulation.
Experience in mainframe application development and support is required.
Familiarity with mainframe communication tools such as CICS and MQ and mainframe security protocols, including RACF.
Technical Skills
Must be proficient in JCL, COBOL, VSAM, MQ, and CICS.
Must have proficiency in REXX and SAS scripting on mainframe systems for data manipulation and process automation.
Knowledge of best practices in mainframe development and support.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, especially for collaborating on mainframe integration with Java developers and migration planning.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
Preferred:
Experience with DevOps practices on mainframes.
Familiarity with MQ use with Apache Kafka.
Prior experience with performance tuning on mainframe systems.
Experience in documenting mainframe operations and applications.
Additional Required Skills/Experience:
A minimum of eight (8) to twelve (12) years’ relevant experience.
A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field then four additional years of related experience is required.
Typically performs all functional duties independently.
Note: Special credentials (licenses and/or certifications) may be required at the Task Order level on a case-specific basis."
Additional Provisions:
Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
Once candidate’s resume is approved and interview passed, the agency is responsible for providing drug screening. Failure to submit the drug screening results will delay the security clearance process.
If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance.
All candidates must be a US Citizen, or have permanent residence status (Green Card).
Candidate must have lived in the US for the past 5 years.
Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
All overtime must be pre-approved in writing by the client manager or his/her designated representative.
Agency will not be reimbursed for overtime charges without previous written authorization. Authorized overtime will be reimbursed at straight time.
The enforced dress code is business casual, i.e. collared shirt with slacks for men, no skirts above the knee for women. Place and Period of Performance
Hours of support:
The standard work week for contract staff will be 5 days a week and 8 hours per day preferable Monday through Friday.
